هدف پژوهش حاضر بررسی رابطه همدلی عاطفی و جهت‌گیری‌های ارتباطی خانواده با رضایت از زندگی دانش‌آموزان در زمان بحران بیماری کرونا با در نظر گرفتن نقش میانجی شفقت ورزی بود. این پژوهش به لحاظ روش همبستگی از نوع معادلات ساختاری بود و جامعه آماری آن شامل کلیه دانش آموزان مدارس متوسطه دوره دوم ناحیه پنج و شش شهر مشهد در سال تحصیلی 1401-1400 به تعداد 1403 نفر بود که تعداد 301 نفر از این دانش آموزان به روش خوشه‌ای چندمرحله‌ای انتخاب شدند. گردآوری داده‌ها در این پژوهش به روش میدانی و با استفاده از پرسشنامه‌های رضایت از زندگی دینر و ایمونز، لارسن و گریفین (1985)، جهت‌گیری‌های ارتباطی خانواده ریچی و فیتزپاتریک (1990)، همدلی دیویس (1983) و شفقت‌ورزی – فرم کوتاه ریس و همکاران (2011) انجام گرفت و جهت تجزیه و تحلیل داده‌ها از معادلات ساختاری استفاده شد و در کلیه تجزیه و تحلیل‌های آماری این پژوهش از نرم افزار Amos-24 و SPSS-26 استفاده گردید. نتایج نشان داد بین همدلی عاطفی با رضایت از زندگی و جهت‌گیری‌های ارتباطی خانواده با رضایت از زندگی رابطه معناداری وجود دارد. بین همدلی عاطفی با شفقت‌ورزی و جهت‌گیری‌های ارتباطی خانواده با شفقت‌ورزی نیز رابطه معناداری وجود دارد. همچنین نتایج نشان داد که بین شفقت‌ورزی با رضایت از زندگی دانش‌آموزان در زمان بحران بیماری کرونا رابطه معناداری وجود دارد.
