هدف از پژوهش حاضر بررسی نقش ابعاد سرشت و منش و خود دل سوزی در پیش بینی کیفیت زندگی زنان مبتلا به دردهای اسکلتی عضلانی بود. این تحقیق توصیفی از نوع همبستگی است. جامعه آماری پژوهش کلیه بیماران مبتلا به دردهای اسکلتی عضلانی مراجعه کننده به مراکز درمانی شهر اردبیل بود. .نمونه پژوهش 210 نفر بیمار مبتلا به درد اسکلتی عضلانی بود که به صورت در دسترس انتخاب شدند. برای جمعآوری داده­ ها از پرسشنامه خوددلسوزی ریس و همکاران (2011)، ابعاد سرشت و منش کلونینجر و همکاران (1994) و کیفیت زندگی سازمان بهداشت جهانی (1989) استفاده شد. داده­ های پژوهش با روش ضریب همبستگی پیرسون و رگرسیون چند گانه تجزیه و  تحلیل شدند.نتایج تحلیل رگرسیون نشان داد که خوددلسوزی (31%)، ابعاد سرشت (22%) و ابعاد منش (31%) از واریانس مشترک کیفیت زندگی را تبیین کردند.این یافته ها بیان میکند که دلسوزی به خود و ابعاد سرشت و منش نقش قابل ملاحظه ای در پیش بینی کیفیت زندگی بیماران مبتلا به دردهای اسکلتی عضلانی دارد. این نتایج تلویحات مهمی در زمینه پیشگیری، آسیب شناسی و مقابله بالینی درد دارد.
